About 6 months ago I had a conversation with a friend where I mentioned I was frustrated by supermarket deodorant. They told me they had been using natural deodorant for years and were loving it. I was pleasantly surprised to see there were loads of great reviews about natural deodorant online. The first type I tried was a salt crystal. I found it awkward to use, it involved wetting your armpits and rubbing the crystal over them. It also didn’t have any scent. It did last for ages and being someone that hates waste, I stuck at it until it ran out but wasn’t keen to do it again.
So I checked with my friends what they use, and it turned out most use Wild. I immediately ordered one! The deodorant comes in the form of compostable refills which you slot into a (gorgeous!) reusable case. Once you finish a refill, you simply swap to another refill and slot it into the case and start again. The biggest things that stood out to me were it was single-use plastic-free and it doesn’t compromise on effectiveness. It’s also made from natural ingredients and doesn’t contain nasty chemicals (sulphates, parabens or aluminium salts) compared to a conventional deodorant or antiperspirant.

I ordered the aqua case and few different scents. I am really impressed with the quality of it, it’s very sturdy and truly a case for life! All of the scents are great, but my favourite one was Sandalwood & Patchouli. I never thought a deodorant can smell so good. It’s so unique compared to those boring big brand scents. Next up I want to try Cherry Blossom!
After 3 months of using it, I’m really pleased. It keeps me smelling fresh all day. Even when going to the gym! It took me a week or so to get used to it and they do say that there is a transition period from using antiperspirants with aluminium salt to natural deodorant. I also find that my armpits are less sensitive now as I used to have irritations from antiperspirants. But now I honestly feel that my armpits are so soft! The formula has shea butter and coconut oil in it, so it keeps my skin moisturised.
