Over the course of lockdown, I, like many others have found myself buying the most weird and wonderful items online. Some of these purchases have been utter fails, for example I decided to follow the ‘get creative’ and ‘start a new hobby’ trend. I ended up buying three paint by numbers kits, original I know, although I didn’t realise at the time that they were being shipped from China and would take 4 weeks to arrive. Naturally, by the time these little paint pots arrived I was completely over the idea and they have been sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust ever since.

My online splurges haven’t all been unsuccessful though! I got at least two weeks use out of my skipping rope, my at-home beauty treatments have worked wonders and I have a new pair of colourful trainers which give me a spring in my step. My most exciting discovery and purchase of all though is what I want to rave about today – Offblak tea. You may be raising an eyebrow right now, thinking ‘tea… really?’ but hear me out! I like many Brits, am a tea lover. I can be quite particular about tea but I also love having lots of different flavours and options to choose from depending on my mood or the time of day. Offblak teas offer exactly that, they have so much variety that there is something for everyone at any time. But that’s not all! Not only do they taste absolutely delicious but the packaging brings so much joy! The packaging is so chic and colourful that I am genuinely excited to open my cupboard for a tea break. They are so pretty, you can even have them as decor for your counter-tops; they make walking into the kitchen a colourful pleasure! They have also been great presents to send to friends and family who have been struggling over the last few months – with cute names like ‘You’re Golden’ and ‘It’s All Peachy’ – they are sure to “Brighten Up” anyone’s day!

One of the best parts about Offblak is that they offer a subscription so you can have these tasty, happy teas delivered straight to your door. The teas are in various categories from fully charged, to glow, chill out and caffeine free, like I said – options for every occasion! The pyramid tea bags also come in cute individual and colourful sachets so you can pop a few in your bag to have on the go. I’m going to talk you through a few of my favourite flavours.
Earl Grey & Rose might have to be my favourite of the bunch, this one is called ‘Future is Pink.’ I adore earl grey tea anyway but this has a hint of rose and I haven’t tasted anything like this before. It has the smoky flavour of earl grey with a twist and it’s simply delicious! The clear and simple writing on the box tells you how long you should brew the tea for (this one suggests 3 minutes), the caffeine level (this one is high in caffeine), the main ingredients (black tea, lemon peel, rose petals etc.) and my favourite part – ‘what it feels like’ (this one claims to feel like a morning jog in the park).

‘Brighten up’ is also divine, this one is a fruit tea with forest fruits and ginger flavour. It has a lovely sense of heat with ginger and hibiscus notes which gives you that warm and refreshing feeling. The flavour isn’t too strong or overpowering – it’s just perfect. ‘Brighten up’ is caffeine free and the box says that it ‘feels like post workout happiness’ which I just love!
‘Squeeze me’ is a green tea flavoured with orange and jasmine. This one has a medium caffeine level and I like having it at about 3pm when I’m in a work slump. It’s after lunch, I’m tired, full and lacking motivation – ‘squeeze me’ is zesty and citrusy, it smells amazing and it gives me that boost to get me through to the end of the working day! Simply opening my cupboard to see all of the bright and colourful options in front of me is a boost in itself. Can you tell how much I love these teas?!

There are so many more flavours I could rave about but all I can say is you need to try this for yourselves. If you are a tea lover like me, give Offblak a go and you won’t be disappointed! I suggest you start with the ‘tea starter kit’ which gives you all 2 sachets each of all 12 teas varieties to try. After that you can create a personalised subscription with your favourites and you can choose whether to receive them every two, three or four weeks. It’s really simple and you can also cancel your subscription at any time with no fuss. Again, this isn’t just a great treat for you, it’s also the perfect unique gift for a friend who needs cheering up!
